Zelensky addressed the French parliament, stating that Europe can no longer be seen as a continent of peace.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has cautioned against the resurgence of fascism in Europe, 80 years after the D-Day invasion that paved the way for Nazi Germany's defeat in World War II.

"Sadly, Europe is no longer a peaceful continent. Nazism is regrettably on the rise again," Zelensky stated to the French National Assembly in Paris on Friday.

Zelensky was in France to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landings alongside other world leaders and veterans on Thursday, even as the conflict in Ukraine continues.

"Cities across Europe are being razed, villages are being burned, and filtration and deportation camps are reappearing," Zelensky told French lawmakers, highlighting the pervasive hatred that he described as a new cult in Russia.
